After spending the first seven seasons of his big-league career in Atlanta, Swanson is making a headline move to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. The 28-year-old star shortstop signed a seven-year deal with the Cubs over the winter and is the face of a new-look Cubs team hoping to get back on track in 2023. Swanson hit 25 home runs and drove in 96 runs during an All-Star season in 2022 (the first of his career), and he’s played more games (362) than any active MLB player since 2020.
