In a 22-year career, Rich "Goose" Gossage, a dominant reliever, redefined the role of the closer. From Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gossage recorded 310 saves, a 3.01 ERA, and 1,502 strikeouts. Celebrated for his overpowering fastball and intimidating presence on the mound, Gossage was a key figure in late-game situations. A 9x All-Star, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
