Like most young drivers who grew up in the southeast, BJ McLeod got his early racing experience through go-karts and Late Models. His first race in the Truck Series in 2010 ended up sparking a 12-year and counting racing career, racking up over 300 starts over the top three divisions of the sport. His best finish came at the 2022 Daytona night race, where he carefully avoided trouble to secure a seventh-place finish
