James Wood - First Hit (11/99)

Almost two years after being included in the trade that sent Juan Soto to San Diego, 21-year-old James Wood made his major league debut against the division rival New York Mets. In his first at-bat, the young Nationals outfielder drilled a one-out single to left. Woods would finish his night 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout in a 9-7 extra-innings loss to New York. Woods, known for his towering height and power, hit .353 with 10 home runs, 37 RBI, and 10 stolen bases in 52 games at Triple-A Rochester. He is one of the many exciting young outfielders within the Nationals organization.
