In a 17-year career, Eddie Mathews, a legendary third baseman, became one of the greatest power hitters of his era. Hailing from Texarkana, Texas, Mathews accumulated 2,315 H, 512 HR, 1,453 RBI, and a .271 BA. Celebrated for his prodigious home run hitting and solid defense, Mathews was a key player for the Braves. A 12x All-Star and 2x World Series champion, he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1978.
