In 1978, Charley Pride was at the height of his popularity as a country music artist. He had already established himself as a trailblazer, being one of the first African American performers to achieve mainstream success in the genre. In that year, Pride released his album "Burgers and Fries," which included the hit singles "You're My Jamaica" and "Burgers and Fries." The album reached the top 10 on the US country charts and solidified Pride's position as one of the leading figures in country music.
